The #1 Problem With The World’s Fastest-Growing Diet

By Dave From Paleohacks
Creator of the Paleohacks Cookbook
Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last couple years, I'm sure you've heard of the "Paleo Diet."

I hate to even call it a "diet", because it's really just the REAL way that humans have eaten for almost 1.9 million years, as opposed to the modern day processed food diet full of grains, sugars, and processed vegetable oils.
Whether you have or not, what you probably DON’T realize is that it’s the fastest growing “diet” in the world right now. From celebrities, chefs, elite athletes... even fitness experts--everyone is eager to try it or adopt it.
And for good reason! Because no other diet or eating plan provides so many benefits so fast:
  • Increased Energy
  • Clearer Skin
  • Lean, Muscular Body
  • Enhanced Libido
  • Greater Mental Clarity
  • All Day Stamina
  • Better Workouts
  • And More
The list goes on and on. Talk to anyone who’s actually eaten Paleo for even a full month and chances are, they’ll rave about the changes they started seeing in their body.
Now, the #1 problem... Click for recipes…
You see, by far the biggest complaint we hear from many who try out the Paleo lifestyle is 'boring' or that it's too hard.
Often, people learn the core principles, experience results... but then get stuck eating bland meals of the same foods over and over again.
Today - that problem is completely solved for you with the something we at Paleohacks have created--our first ever Paleo Cookbook.
Just FYI, Paleohacks is the single biggest online Paleo community anywhere - filled with tens of thousands of people actually THRIVING on Paleo.

Inside the cookbook, you'll not only get 125+ delicious mouthwatering recipes, you'll also get some great bonuses as well - to help you get started as fast as possible.
Like our bonus "Paleo 4x Cookbook" - which lists some great recipes that only require 4 ingredients - to keep it as simple for you as possible.
Not to mention we have tons of other bonuses, which you'll see on the next page...
(There's even a bonus that helps you solve another big problem...which is how to dine out with friends and have a social life, while staying strictly Paleo.)

The #1 Biggest Paleo Mistake (and How to Avoid It)

If you’re tired of low energy and crash diets, “going paleo” is one of the best things you can do for your health…
But you can only pull it off if you avoid the common mistakes people make along the way.
There are plenty of places to go wrong, but one mistake TOWERS above the rest.
If you’re doing this (a lot of people do without even knowing), you’re setting yourself up to fail.
But if you can AVOID this mistake… you’ll put yourself on the fast track to better health. Click for recipes…

Are You Making This Fatal Paleo Mistake?

The most dangerous paleo mistake people make?
Seeing it as a DIET instead of a LIFESTYLE.
When you start a diet, you go into it with a few expectations. It won’t be fun. You’ll be hungry all the time. And most importantly, the diet will END.
Paleo is much more than that. People who succeed with it are in it for the long haul
Maybe they want to lose weight or cure a health problem, but that isn’t the ONLY thing that drives them.
People who succeed with paleo understand it’s a new way to live. It doesn’t stop after a few months… or once you reach a certain goal.

Why Seeing Paleo as a “Diet” Sets You up to Fail

When you’re dieting, it’s easy to stick to the program for a few weeks. That’s when your motivation is high…
But it gets harder as the days go by. Strict diets are BORING; you end up eating the same things over and over. Until you go off the rails and binge on some pizza or ice cream. Click for recipes…
After that, it’s easy to blame yourself for not being disciplined enough. Then you give up on the diet altogether.
Sounds depressing, doesn’t it?
It doesn’t have to be. Not if you see “going paleo” as a lifestyle change…

Turning Paleo into a Healthy Lifestyle That Lasts

One thing is GUARANTEED when you go paleo: you’ll slip up sometimes.
That’s OKif you see paleo as your new lifestyle. Instead of beating yourself up, you can learn from your mistakes and make small adjustments moving forward.
Feeling hungry after your workouts?
No problem. Try adding some starchy vegetables into your diet after you train.
Tired of getting off track when you eat lunch at work?
No worries. Figure out a way to bring paleo leftovers from home.
These are the kinds of little tweaks you can make over time to maintain success. There’s no pressure to follow an insane diet; just gradual improvements that pay off with a happier, healthier life.
There’s nothing stopping you from “dipping your toes” into paleo either. You can ease into your new lifestyle at whatever pace you’re comfortable with.

How to Quit “Dieting” and Jumpstart Your New Lifestyle

If you’re ready to stop spinning your wheels and FINALLY get the health you deserve, it’s time to ditch “dieting” for good.
It’s time to start a new lifestyle.
The PaleoHacks Cookbook can help.
It’s designed to make your lifestyle change as painless and fulfilling as possible.
Maybe you don’t know where to start. Changing your lifestyle can sound scary… but it DOESN’T have to be. The nearly 200 recipes in the cookbook are healthy, delicious, and 100% paleo. No need to worry about getting bored like you did with “diets.”
And it doesn’t matter if you’re busy or new to the kitchen. The cookbook breaks down how to prepare every dish step-by-step. All you have to do is follow along… and enjoy the delicious meals time and time again!

Why Veganism RUINS Your Brain

Did you know there’s NEVER been a culture that survived without eating animal products in the entire history of mankind? But that lifestyle sure is trendy now. You don’t have to look hard to find someone swearing up and down how great their “animal-free” vegan diet makes them feel. Usually they try to get YOU to start eating like them too…
Most vegans telling you this don’t exactly look like fitness models. A lot of them are “skinny fat”—without an ounce of muscle on their bodies. But they aren’t just unhealthy on the outside. They’re sick on the INSIDE too. The way they eat ruins their brains.
Did you know that meat, fish, and eggs are the ONLY concentrated sources of vitamin B12, vitamin D, and omega-3 fats around? And that those nutrients play KEY roles when it comes to brain health? Vegans don’t eat any of these things, and they pay the price...
But you don’t have to. Let’s find out the truth about veganism (and a better way for you to get healthy):

Veganism Starves Your Brain of Vital Nutrients

You can only get some nutrients (like vitamin C) from plants…
But there are others you can only get from ANIMALS.
So when you ELIMINATE one of these food groups—like vegans want you to do—you can only imagine the disaster that occurs in your brain.
One of the biggest nutrients vegans miss out on? Vitamin B12.
Every cell in your body uses vitamin B12. It’s especially important for keeping your brain working properly. Click for recipes…
A study published in the journal Annals of Nutrition and Metabolism found that 92% of vegans DON’T have enough vitamin B12! That’s a recipe for fatigue, memory loss, and all kinds of other neurological problems.
It takes YEARS for ex-vegans to build their low vitamin B levels back up. One study compared kids who used to be vegans with kids who always ate meat…
The ex-vegans had worse “fluid intelligence” and “short-term memory”—even years after they quit vegan diets.
Omega-3s fatty acids protect you against diseases, depression, and even ADHD…
Vegans aren’t getting NEARLY enough of those, either. You can get some from plants, but it’s much harder for your body to process them from plants than animals.
A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that vegans have around HALF the omega-3 levels that meat-eaters do!

Veganism Isn’t A Shred Healthier Than Eating Meat

Vegans love to say they live longer, healthier lives than people who eat meat…
Lies. Despite what vegans say, there are ZERO controlled trials showing veganism is healthier than eating meat.
They might throw some studies at you… supposedly “proving” their lifestyle is the best. But the studies they use DON’T show that vegan diets lead to better health.
Vegans also usually don’t smoke. They don’t drink much, and they exercise. So it’s impossible to prove their DIET (instead of their lifestyle) makes them healthy.
The vegan diet might be better than the typical diet “mainstream” nutrition groups recommend. But practically any other diet is better than that nonsense. Click for recipes…
There’s NO scientific reason to avoid eating animals—especially when they give you so many nutrients your brain NEEDS to work.
Does taking HANDFULS of supplements to make up for all the nutrients you’re missing out on sound like the “best” way to eat to you?
You deserve better than that…

“Isn’t There a Better Way?”

If you care about your brain working right, veganism is a perfect example of what NOT to do.
But you’re probably wondering what you should do instead…
There’s a better way—a way based on THOUSANDS of years of real-life experience.
The PaleoHacks Cookbook shows you how to embrace that new way of life.
It’s all about eating how your ancestors used to eat. When you eat REAL foods you were meant to eat (including animals), great things happen. Your brain hums along without a hitch. You wake up in the morning with boundless energy. You feel (and look) younger.
With nearly 200 recipes to choose from, it’s simple to find plenty of healthy, delicious meals that boost your brain—and your body.
It doesn’t matter if you’re busy or new to the kitchen. The cookbook breaks down how to prepare every dish step-by-step. All you have to do is follow along… and enjoy the delicious meals!

The Truth About Cholesterol

Cholesterol is a big, bad monster that lives under your bed.
A monster the media and “mainstream” nutrition organizations created.
Now they have you running scared.
There’s so much fear and confusion about this… and it’s leading millions of people to make TERRIBLE decisions for their health.
So let’s pull this monster out from under the bed and take a long, hard look at him.
Is cholesterol really as scary as the media wants you to believe?
It’s time you learned the TRUTH… Click for recipes…

Cholesterol Is Not the Villain You Think It Is

Cholesterol might be “public enemy #1,” but it’s getting an unfair reputation.
Bottom line: cholesterol is natural, and you NEED it to survive.
This stuff is so important that your body actually MAKES it on its own!
Your body uses cholesterol for all kinds of things like:
  • Producing hormones
  • Balancing your electrolytes
  • Boosting your immune system
  • Keeping you in a good mood
  • Fighting stress
People in the mainstream media treat cholesterol like a villain, but it acts more like a friend.
Why?
Flawed science and financial ties to “Big Pharma” kicked off the cholesterol smear campaign in the 1950s… and it’s been going strong ever since.
This culture of fear helps drug companies sell more than $14 BILLION of cholesterol-lowering medication to over 24 million Americans each year.

Doesn’t High Cholesterol Cause Heart Disease?

You’ve been warned for decades about how high cholesterol can cause heart disease…
But more and more evidence is coming out proving that simply isn’t true.
Here’s what you probably WON’T hear from your doctor: Click for recipes…
No study has shown a significant link between cholesterol and your risk of heart disease.
Did you know that people with LOW cholesterol develop just as much plaque in their blood vessels as people with “high” cholesterol?”
It’s true.
Your total cholesterol levels—the ones most people worry about—aren’t connected to heart disease.

Why “Good” vs. “Bad” Cholesterol Is Silly

Your doctor might’ve said you want your “good” cholesterol (HDL) high and your “bad” cholesterol (LDL) low to stay healthy...
The common thinking is that high levels of LDL increase your risk of heart disease, and high levels of HDL decrease it.
But studies are coming out showing that this idea—that all LDL cholesterol is “bad”—is bogus.
There are actually two types of LDL: 1) large, harmless types; and 2) small, dense types.
You ONLY have to worry about small, dense LDL. The American Medical Association found that those are 3 times more likely to cause heart disease than large LDL.
The “HDL is good” and “LDL is bad” idea is an easy way for drug companies to sell pills, but it’s misleading people about their health.
The key to staying healthy: avoid small, dense LDL. Click for recipes…

You Shouldn’t be Scared to Eat More Cholesterol

The media urges you to avoid eating foods with high cholesterol (and saturated fat) like the plague.
Swap eggs for egg whites. Skip the bacon and red meat.
This has created a modern health NIGHTMARE. We’re supposed to stay away from fats and eat plenty of carbs to keep our cholesterol down…
But Dr. Ronald Krauss found that eating this way increases the small, dense LDL in our blood.
Following advice from “mainstream” health organizations puts you at risk of heart disease. It’s literally dangerous for your health!
But getting MORE cholesterol from your food isn’t just safe—it can even decrease your risk for heart disease…
Researchers at the University of Connecticut found that people who ate three whole eggs a day lowered their small, dense LDL by an average of 18%.
Don’t be scared of high-cholesterol food or saturated fats. Doing the exact OPPOSITE of what most nutrition guidelines recommend is the first step to better health.

Want to Stop Worrying about Cholesterol? Start by Eating the Right Foods…

We’ve heard the same cholesterol “story” from the media for decades now…
But that story is FICTION.
You don’t have to buy it anymore. Click for recipes…
You don’t have to join the millions of people taking expensive (and dangerous) pills to lower their cholesterol—even though they would’ve been perfectly fine without them!
It’s time to turn the mainstream nutrition guidelines on their head…
And focus on eating healthy, delicious foods our ancestors ate for thousands of years.
That's where the the PaleoHacks Cookbook comes in.
It gives you all the tools you need to prepare around 200 different meals—even if you’re short on time or new to the kitchen.
By eating the foods in the cookbook, you’ll fill your body with the healthy cholesterol your body needs and cut down on the small, dense LDL particles (the dangerous stuff).

Are These Foods Making You DEPRESSED?

Did you know there's something "mainstream" doctors and health organizations AREN'T telling you about depression? It's their dirty little secret. They love to talk about prescription pills and "magic bullet" solutions. And why wouldn’t they? That's how they make BILLIONS of dollars a year...
But they're a lot less eager to tell you how FOOD might be making you depressed!
You've probably heard how your environment or family history could cause depression…
But what about the foods you're putting into your body?
Ready to take your mental health into your own hands?
That starts by understanding how different foods affect you. Here are some of the WORST foods to eat if you're depressed: Click for recipes…

1. Refined Sugar

When you eat something sweet, you get a short burst of energy—a “sugar rush.”
But what happens 20 or 30 minutes later?
You CRASH. You end up feeling more tired than you did before.
Refined sugar sends your blood sugar on a rollercoaster ride. When you eat it, your blood sugar skyrockets. Then your body floods your system with a hormone called insulin to get things back under control.
Do this often, and you end up with too much insulin in your body, which has been linked to sleep problems, emotional outbursts, and other signs of depression.
A study published in the journal Public Health Nutrition found that people who eat commercial baked goods (which are PACKED with refined sugar) are 51% more likely to be depressed than people who don’t. Click for recipes…

2. Processed Carbohydrates

The average diet is full of processed carbs like cereals, breads, pasta, and snack foods.
After all, sticking to a low-fat, high-carb diet is the ticket to better health, right?
Not exactly…
An eye-opening study published in the British Journal of Nutrition found that people who ate less fat (and more carbs) had a higher risk of depression.
Why?
Because your body treats processed carbs the exact same way it treats sugars.
Your body breaks down processed carbs extremely fast, so eating them spikes your blood sugar the same way eating sugary foods does…
It doesn’t matter if you eat a bagel or a candy bar. Both foods start the same chain reaction that leads to depression: insulin floods your body, and you end up feeling angry, tired, and sad. Click for recipes…

3. Hydrogenated Oils and Trans Fats

Hydrogenated oils and trans fats are restaurant favorites because they’re cheap and can be used for a long time…
But they create SERIOUS health problems. These foods cause inflammation—your body literally starts attacking itself.
And inflammation leads to depression
Researchers in Spain tracked over 12,000 people for six years. None were depressed when the study started. But 657 were depressed by the time it was over.
Why did some people get depressed? The ones who ate trans fats had up to a 48% increased risk of depression compared to people who didn’t.
The types of fats you eat have a HUGE impact on your emotional health. The Spanish researchers also found that people who ate more fish and olive oil (healthy fats) actually lowered their risk for depression.

4. Foods with High Pesticide Residue

Farming operations use pesticides to protect fruits and vegetables from pests, but traces of those pesticides STAY on the food after it’s sold…
People think they’re being healthy; they’re eating fruits and vegetables, after all!
But many don’t realize they’re also eating traces of pesticide that can make them depressed.
Every year, the Environmental Working Group makes a “dirty dozen” list: 12 foods covered with the most pesticides. Here’s the 2015 list:
  • Apples
  • Celery
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Cucumbers
  • Grapes
  • Nectarines
  • Peaches
  • Potatoes
  • Snap Peas
  • Spinach
  • Strawberries
  • Sweet Bell Peppers
Don’t stop eating fruits and vegetables. >But buy locally grown, organic produce from the grocery store or farmers’ market whenever you can. Those are full of healthy nutrients—without all the chemicals! Click for recipes…

Your One-Stop Solution for a Healthier, Happier Life

The key to beating your depression might NOT be in your medicine cabinet.
It might be something simpler than that: the foods you eat.
Avoiding the dangerous foods above will go a long way in boosting your mood…
But you’re probably wondering:
“What should I eat instead?”
The PaleoHacks Cookbook has you covered.
You’ll get help choosing the right foods to eat… and all the info and step-by-step instructions you need to turn those foods into mouth-watering meals. It’s easy to keep things interesting with around 200 recipes to choose from.
NThe PaleoHacks cookbook is your one-stop solution to STOP “dieting” and embrace a healthy LIFESTYLE that lasts.
A lifestyle where you look and feel great—eating the foods you were meant to eat. And seeing the bright side of things by addressing depression at its source.

5 Things Everyone Gets Wrong About Paleo

Did you know that most of what you hear about paleo is flat out WRONG? No other lifestyle has gotten HALF as much attention from the media in the past few years. But lies and misinformation are covering up a lot of things that make paleo great.
Sadly, a lot of people are buying into these MYTHS. It keeps them from giving paleo a fair shot. It leaves them spinning their wheels—frustrated and unhealthy.
But don’t you think you deserve to know the truth? Especially when your health is at stake?
Let's separate FACT from FICTION. Here are 5 things almost everyone gets wrong about Paleo. Click for recipes…

1. "Paleo is a Fad Diet"

One of the silliest ideas is that paleo is “just another fad diet.”
You’ve seen the South Beach Diet, the Zone Diet, and countless others get popular then fade away over the years. So you might be skeptical about the next new thing.
But paleo isn’t a diet. It’s a framework (based on what your ancestors ate) designed to help you make the best food choices. There’s flexibility… and room to tweak it just for you.
It isn’t a “fad” either.
How could it be, when our ancestors ate this way for THOUSANDS of years?
If people in the media did more research, they’d see that paleo is the opposite of a fad diet.

2. Paleo is Too Expensive

What if paleo sounds nice… but you just don’t think you can afford it?
I see where you’re coming from. Buying organic vegetables and grass-fed beef is pricier than buying the usual stuff…
But you know what else is pricey?
Doctors’ and hospital bills!
Eating paleo costs more than picking up fast food every day because it’s an INVESTMENT in your health.
Sure, you pay a bit more upfront than you do for processed foods. But that investment pays off. You get more energy. You stay out of the doctor’s office. You get a better life. Click for recipes…

3. "Paleo Is Too Strict"

“I could never give up bread!”
“But I love cheese…”
These are the things you hear from skeptics who think paleo is too strict to try.
But no two “paleo diets” are the exact same. You can be as strict (or flexible) as you want to be.
Some paleos avoid all grains and dairy products. Others aren’t afraid to eat rice or put cream in their coffee.
A lot of people get caught up on the foods paleo doesn’t recommend… instead of all the delicious foods they do get to eat.
Yes, you should probably give up pasta and bread. But isn’t it nice to be able to eat bacon, eggs, and steak instead?/p>
Paleo ISN’T about taking the fun out of eating; it’s about making the best choices for your health and still enjoying your food.

4. "You Don't Get Enough Fiber"

Government organizations, doctors, and even TV commercials are constantly telling you to eat more fiber…
And most of them say GRAINS are the best way to get it.
So it might throw you for a loop when you find out they aren’t a part of the Paleo lifestyle. Click for recipes…
Without grains, how do you get enough fiber?
Paleo offers plenty of ways to get the fiber you need.
Eating plants is all it takes to get more than enough. Eating fruits, nuts, and seeds (all paleo-friendly) gives you plenty of fiber—without the harmful effects of grains!

5." Paleo Is a Low-Carb Diet"

You might think paleo is “just another low-carb diet.”
You’ve already seen the Atkins diet and countless others…
Those come off as gimmicky ways to lose weight. You might wonder if they’re even healthy.
But paleo isn’t really a “diet” at all. It’s a healthy framework to follow; you can change it to fit your own needs…
Paleo CAN be low-carb if you want it to be. A lot of people—especially people who aren’t very active—do well eating that way.
But paleo doesn’t have to be low carb. Plenty of people do better with more carbs in their diet, so they just eat more fruits and starchy vegetables. That doesn’t keep them from living the paleo lifestyle.

Building a Healthier You -- One Meal at a Time

Paleo is everywhere you look.
Some of the attention’s been good. Some of it (driven by myths about what paleo really is) has been bad.
Now that you know the TRUTH… Click for recipes…
There’s no better way to experience it than trying it out yourself!
If you’re tired of wading through the lies and want to give paleo a shot, the PaleoHacks Cookbook can help.
You’ll get all the knowledge you need to make healthy, delicious meals. It doesn’t matter if you’re busy or don’t have much cooking experience.
One of the biggest OBSTACLES that keeps people from going paleo is not knowing what to eat or how to prepare it.
The cookbook removes this obstacle. It gives you all the tools you need to transform your health— enjoying every bite along the way.

5 BEST Foods for Better, Glowing Skin

By Dave From Paleohacks
Creator of the Paleohacks Cookbook

Did you know that the foods you eat don't just affect the way youfeel? They also affect the way you LOOK. So if you're unhappy with your skin, your DIET (not just your age and lifestyle) could be to blame.
Some foods are great for you—inside and out… Click for recipes…
So if you want healthy, radiant skin, eating more of them is one of the smartest things you can do!
But most people don't know that. They end up spending stacks of cash on beauty "products" and spreading artificial chemicals on themselves hoping to look better.
YOU deserve better than that.
What are the best foods you can eat for healthier skin?
Keep reading to find out...

1. Green Tea

Drinking a few cups of green tea a day isn’t just relaxing -- it’s one of the most important things you can do to look younger!
Tea leaves are full of antioxidants that protect your cells, fight inflammation, and keep out harmful toxins.
Green tea also has compounds called “catechins” that increase the blood flow and oxygen to your skin. This makes it easier to get nutrients, which keeps your skin look amazing.
A 2011 study published in the journal Nutrition found that people who drank green tea every day for 12 weeks had smoother skin than people who didn’t. The green tea-drinkers even had less sun damage after they were exposed to UV light!
University of Alabama and Case Western Reserve University researchers also came to the conclusion that green tea might even reduce your risk of skin cancer.

2. Fish

One of the best ways to keep your skin healthy: avoid inflammation in your body. Reducing inflammation helps all kinds of skin issues, whether you’re battling a specific condition or just looking for a healthier glow.
Eating more fish helps you do just that! Click for recipes…
Fish are full of omega-3 fatty acids. Most of us aren’t getting nearly enough of these. But they’re KEY to fighting inflammation.
Studies have found that adding omega-3s to your diet reduces puffiness and improves skin health. Bottom line: eat more fish, and get smoother, younger-looking skin.
You can find the most omega-3 fatty acids in cold-water fish like salmon, sardines, mackerel, tuna, and cod. Focus on those to get the most bang for your buck.

3. Berries

Don’t be fooled by their small size.Berries pack a serious skin-clearing punch!
They’re loaded with “antioxidants,” chemicals that flush toxins out of your body. A lot of foods have some antioxidants, but few have more than berries…
A study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries have the highest “total antioxidant capacity” of any food.
These antioxidants improve your skin by protecting it from aging, sun damage, and stress. Click for recipes…
So eating berries means fewer wrinkles, dry skin, and creases in your forehead…
Nutritionist Samantha Heller says, “when you help protect the cells from damage and disintegration, you also guard against premature aging. In this respect, these fruits may very well help keep your skin looking younger longer.”

4. Nuts

Walnuts are great for your skin. According to Dr. David Bank, the omega-3 fatty acids inside them make your skin more elastic. Walnuts are the only type of nut that have a significant amount of omega-3s.
Walnuts are also high in “biotin,” a B vitamin that helps moisturize dry skin and overcome conditions like eczema.
Eating Brazil nuts is another great way to keep your skin looking its best…
Brazil nuts are loaded with selenium, a mineral that boosts your immune system and can reverse skin conditions like acne!
It takes just two Brazil nuts a day to get enough selenium. Toss those in with a handful of walnuts, and your skin will look better in no time. Click for recipes…

3. Olive Oil

Olive oil gets rid of toxins from your body and fights inflammation (which can lead to all kinds of health problems).
That makes it good for your heart and brain… and also great for your skin.
When you eat olive oil, you take in a good dose of antioxidants and healthy fats, which leave your skin looking healthier and younger.
Olive oil gets rid of toxins from your body and fights inflammation (which can lead to all kinds of health problems).
Getting enough “good fats” is a key part of keeping your skin healthy. A Japanese study found that people who ate more saturated and monounsaturated fats had fewer wrinkles and more elastic skin than people who ate less.
A 2012 study in the Public Library of Science found that the more olive oil you eat, the fewer signs of aging skin.Olive oil beat every other type of oil the researchers tested! Click for recipes…

The Top 5 Paleo Mistakes You MUST Avoid

Did you know that “going paleo”—eating the way your ancestors used to eat—is one of the best things you can do for your health? You can spend YEARS trying new fad diets and counting calories like most people, then end up feeling OLDER and SICKER than before OR you can stop chasing trends and start building a real foundation of health… one based on THOUSANDS of years of proven success.

The paleo principles are simple, but I have to warn you: they go against most of the “conventional” nutrition advice that’s been going around (and making people sick) for decades. Having an OPEN mind is the first step to feeling better.
Did you know that most people who struggle with paleo make the SAME common mistakes? That’s great news for YOU though. Once you know what those mistakes are, it’s much easier to avoid them and rejuvenate your life.
So let’s dive in. Here are the top 5 paleo mistakes to avoid… Click for recipes…

1. Quitting Too Soon

Going paleo pays off for years and decades to come…
But RADICALLY changing your lifestyle can make for a tough few weeks.
You CRASH. You end up feeling more tired than you did before.
There’s psychological pressure from creating new habits. And it can be hard physically; sugars and grains are addictive, so you might not feel your best the first few weeks after you ditch them.
There are also social challenges. You might get funny looks from friends and coworkers. Your family could push back against the “new you.”
You won’t figure everything out in the first few weeks, and that’s FINE. Take action, make changes along the way, and reap the rewards for the rest of your life.
Whatever you do, don’t give up after just a few weeks! Click for recipes…

2. Failing to Plan

Going from a typical Western diet to paleo is an INVESTMENT in your health. It’ll help you get the most out of life…f
But it takes some work up front.
There are challenges—especially in the first few weeks. You have to avoid foods you used to eat. Maybe you’re stepping into the kitchen to make your own meals for the first time. Click for recipes…
How will you handle dinner if you have to stay late at the office?
What happens if you’re running errands and get hungry for a snack?
These are the types of questions to think about. Coming up with a basic plan of how you’ll start your new lifestyle makes it MUCH easier to succeed. You can always tweak things along the way.

3. Treating Paleo Like a "Detox" Diet

Grains. Sugars. Dairy. Legumes. Paleo’s “things to avoid” list can seem overwhelming.
A lot of paleo rookies focus too much on what to get rid of and not enough on what they should eat instead. They see paleo as a “detox” instead of a healthy new lifestyle.
Worrying ONLY about which foods to cut out is a recipe for disaster. You don’t get enough calories because you aren’t thinking about all the extra protein and fats you need…
So you end up hungry, tired, and annoyed. That’s no place to be when you’re trying to change the way you eat and live.
WPaleo isn’t a detox. It’s about making the right food choices, not just AVOIDING a lot of stuff. Click for recipes…

4. Obsessing Over Perfection

Another common paleo mistake: people think it’s an “all or nothing” deal.
They beat themselves up for swiping a few French fries from their spouse’s plate. Or they decide paleo “isn’t for them” after giving into a sugar craving or two.
It doesn’t have to be this way!
Progress—not perfection—is the goal.
Every good decision helps. Eating well all day, then eating ice cream after dinner, is MUCH better than eating terribly all day and then having the ice cream.
It’s healthier to view being “perfectly paleo” as an ideal instead of a requirement.
Try to make the best choices you can… but don’t quit if you get off track. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. That’s the path to long-term success.

5. Feeling Scared of Carbs

Carbs AREN’T evil, despite what a lot of people say.
Low-carb diets can work great, but some paleo newbies take the low-carb thing too far. They obsess over avoiding all carbs—even if they come from starchy vegetables or fruits.
This can leave you hungry all the time if you don’t replace those carbs with plenty of protein and healthy fats…
It’s even harder on people who work out a lot. They would have an easier time with paleo if they added healthy carbs to make up for the huge demands they put on their bodies. Click for recipes…
How many carbs people need VARIES. So if you feel terrible eating low-carb paleo, try adding some carbs into the mix. They might be just what you need to get your new lifestyle on track.
